Eng.(Prof.) L. L. Ratnayake: BSc (Eng), MSc, CEng, FIE (Sri Lanka), MCIT (Lond), PEng, FNAS (Sri Lanka), IntPE (Sri Lanka).
Professor Lakshman L. Ratnayake brings more than 40 years’ experience to the education industry and currently he is the Chairman of SLIIT. He is an Emeritus Professor at University of Moratuwa after being a Professor/ Senior Professor for over 18 years. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Calgary, Canada and Adjunct Associated Professor at the Utah State University, USA. He was the Vice Chairman of the UGC from 2001 to 2006, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 1995 to 2001 and the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering from 1989 to 1994 at the University of Moratuwa. He has published a large number of papers in national and international journals and conferences.
Professor Lakshman L. Ratnayake is a Past President of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, Chartered Institute of Transport, Sri Lanka and a Past Chairman of the Board Trustees IESL. Currently he is a Board Member of IESL College of Engineering, Member of the IESL Accreditation Board and a Member of the IESL Registration Board. Currently he is also a Board Member of the National Research Council, a Member of the University of Colombo Council and a Member of the Grant Board of the ICT Agency. He has worked as the Project Director of the World Bank funded project on Higher Education for the Twenty-First Century (HETC) from 2010 to 2014 and the Project Director of the World Bank funded IRQUE Project from 2004 to 2010 in the Ministry of Higher Education.
